Lukas: “This was based on a news story we read during our 2016 EFDSS residency. Manfred Fritz Bajorat chose to leave behind the harsh winters of Germany and live his life at sea aboard the Sayo. Over time he lost contact with friends and family and then in February 2016 he was found drifting off the coast of Barobo having died in the hull slumped over his radio. The salt air, temperatures and strong winds had mummified his body - a grim and striking image which appeared in many of our tabloid newspapers.”
